Spring/Summer care

Your plant would like to be place in a bright position but not in full sun.

Water with rain water everyday allowing the water to drain out of the bottom of the pot. Don’t stand in water.

Also as often as you can preferably twice a day mist your plant with rain water , paying attention to the end of the leaves as this is where the new cups grow from.

They like medium to high humidity so a shower room is ideal all year round or in the summer you hang your plant under a tree in the garden. But if temperatures drop to 10 degrees then it would need to be brought in to the house.

Autumn/ winter care

Once temperatures drop to 10 degrees it is time to bring into the house if your plant has been outside for the summer.

Place in a draft free bright place and water and mist daily with rain water.

Cups will age over time , once they have gone brown, trim off. New ones should be forming from the new leaves come through. If this is not happening , then mist more to bring the humidity up a bit ,this will stop the cups drying up when forming .

Repotting your Tropical Pitcher Plant

With a new pot about 2 inches bigger then the one it is in . Slip out of pot and place in in new pot and fill in with carnivorous soil (50/50 peat perlite), keeping top of plant level with new pot ( don’t plant deep) and firm in .

Hanging up your newly potted Tropical Pitcher Plant water with rain water till it drains out of the bottom of the pot and give a good mist to settle it back in
